They didn't respond after that so I went to their desk and saw a PDF in preview mode in File Explorer so I assumed it was fine. The Foxit user was really slow to respond to my questions, but I told them the same thing, try updating Foxit and then restarting their computer. The adobe user, I ran the Adobe updater and then a restart and it seemed to fix it. One was using Adobe Acrobat and the other was using Foxit. I have seen this on two computers at my work place. It's impacting few enough people here that I'm just repairing the broken association on a case by case basis for now though. Trouble is that we have a mixed environment with some workstations using Adobe and others using Foxit. Has anyone else here observed this problem? I visited their desk and it was just as they'd said. They didn't mention it to me immediately, instead simply opening the files to see them which still works. During an office meeting yesterday someone mentioned that for a few weeks they'd been unable to preview PDF files. I don't keep the "preview" window visible in Explorer but several of my coworkers do. Rather than seeing a preview when highlighting a file name the user sees an error pictured in the image below.
